Caring for your new toy

Product Care Guide

Please take some time to read this quick guide to the hygiene, safety and maintenance of your new adult product. Using the incorrect lubricant, failing to clean your product or storing it incorrectly can lead to a shorter lifespan, product distortion or hygiene risks.

Clean after every use.
Use water-based lubricant when unsure.
Remove batteries before storage.
Keep toys separated and dry.

Cleaning & hygiene

Even if your product is for personal use only, toy cleaner is a necessity. Products cleaned with toy cleaner after each use stay free of bacteria and last longer.

Without toy cleaner, product material can degrade or become discoloured. Household soaps, detergents and antibacterial gels are unsuitable for most products and sensitive areas of the body.

Use a toy cleaner to extend the life of the product.

Lubricant

Any sex toy is considered a foreign object in the body and should be used with a personal lubricant formulated with the correct ingredients for internal use.

Water-based lubricants, including flavoured, cooling, warming and hybrid varieties, are compatible with sex toy products of all materials. If it starts to feel tacky, add a little more water or lube.

Silicone-based lubricants are fine on hard materials like hard plastic, aluminium, ceramic, steel, granite, wood and marble. Oil-based products, including baby oil, massage oil, coconut oil and olive oil, should be kept away from sex toy products and should not be used internally.

Regardless of what your product is made of, water-based lubricant is a safe choice.

Batteries

Many products are intended for battery operation and are relatively delicate. High-powered lithium or rechargeable batteries can overwork delicate internal motors, weaken intensity and shorten the expected lifespan.

Remove batteries when the product is not in use to preserve battery life and avoid damage from leaking batteries.

Use only heavy duty batteries unless your product instructions say otherwise.

Warranties

If the product has a warranty, register it with the manufacturer as soon as possible. This is usually done online and may be required for support or replacement claims.

Register product warranties with the manufacturer early.

Storage

Store adult products in a cool, dry place, away from other silicone toys. Keeping each product in a separate lint-free bag helps protect the material.

For privacy, lockable boxes and toy bags are available at Naughty But Nice to keep products safe and away from prying eyes.

Store products so they are not in contact with each other.
